This series is dedicated for those who happened to live on small spaces. Whether it is an apartment or a tiny landed house, space arrangement is the main problem. This series will bring some ideas for you to utilize those limited space you have now. To start with, let’s talk about the bath room.

First thing you should realize is that by having a limited space, you may not be able to have a ‘complete’ bath room as you would in a bigger space. Although it is still very depended on the size that you have for the bathroom, a large wash basin, a bath tub, or a Jacuzzi are things that you can already forget.

Yet, this does not mean that you can only have a lousy bath room. Not at all, if you design and select the bath room essentials properly. After all, a simple design is trendy thing nowadays. Why don’t we start with the bath room then?

Trade the space-consuming bath tub with a nice shower! You can easily find numerous models of them in Home Depot. The only problem is that to ensure you have enough time to make a decision and enough money to buy them! It’s true as more and more manufacturer introduced what they called ‘a designer’s shower, or high tech shower, etc.’ The same process goes for the other bath room essentials; closets, towel hanger, soap dispenser, etc.

You might want to add a wash basin and that’s fine as long as you have the space and you don’t have to bang your self around the bath room every time you need to brush your teeth. In addition, you might want to think about the shelf for the bath room products; shaver, hair dryer, tooth brush/ toothpaste, shampoo, perfume, etc. You should either think about modular storage system or even a custom made one to suit the existing space.

As for the design, it is recommended to use bright color and use the same or similar color for the floor, wall, and ceiling. This will make the room seems to look bigger. Also, use the same color tone on the lighting. Make sure that the color of the floor, wall, and ceiling still correspond to the bath room essentials that you picked up earlier. Again, the minimalist or the natural design is the winning selection in this case.

Last thing to consider will be to install an exhaust fan. Usually you will not have any window or it might be only a small ventilation. You can help the air inside the bath room to circulate better by installing an exhaust fan. No need to install the giant fan, choose the one that is suitable for your bath room. The bigger the fan, the more noise it will bring and it may interrupt you while bathing. It is recommended that you connect the fan with the lighting system so it will be automatically turned on and off.

You see, having a small bath room does not always meant that should give the comfort up.
