Talking about toilet it is almost normal if we associate it with a cold and/ damp place, which normally should be kept clean all the times. Thus, to do so we are using extensive chemical-based cleaning agents. Some of these cleaning agents contain corrosive substance which is not only killing all the bad bacteria but also some micro-organism that is useful for the environment. To avoid this from happening as well as keeping up with the green movement in your toilet, here are few tips:

You can use baking soda to clean up your water closet. Pour them on or surrounding the water closet, rub them with soft-haired brush before rinsing it with water.

To get rid of stain and deposit, spray a little bit of vinegar on the spot, let them absorb for 5-10 minutes before rubbing them and rinse with clean water. You can repeat the same method as necessary just in case you still have the stain/ deposit.

Combating bad odor/ smell of the toilet can be done with a mixture of orange or tea tree oil with water. Spray the mixture on some spot, especially on the water closet. You can also put coffee/ vanili powder to absorb the bad odor/ smell.

As you can probably see, all of the above tips are based on one single idea; exchanging chemical cleaning agents with natural-based elements. Chemicals in general can be hazardous when used/ accidentally consumed in large amount or exposed in long period of time. One chemical for example, diethylene glycol monobuthyl eter is hazardous and can easily kill water-borne micro organism that is essentials to the environment.

Also, most of the chemical-based cleaning agents are packed with plastic containers. Plastic is considered to be non-environmental friendly. It will take hundred or perhaps thousand of years to process plastic and to recycle it is not easy as well. So, don’t hesitate to switch to more natural cleaning agents and start the GREEN revolution from your toilet.
